📋 The short version: Use Family Vault responsibly. Your data is yours. We provide the app as-is. Don't use it for anything illegal. Purchases follow the App Store and Play Store rules.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Family Vault ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Family Vault is a mobile application that provides local, private storage for personal and family documents, emergency contacts, insurance information, medical records, account information, legal documents, and related content. The App operates entirely on your device with no server-side data storage.
3. User Accounts
Family Vault does not require the creation of a user account. No email address, username, or password is required to use the App. Your identity is never collected or stored by us.
4. Purchases and Subscriptions
Family Vault offers optional paid tiers:
- Standard Plan — available as a yearly subscription or one-time lifetime purchase
- Premium Plan — available as a yearly subscription or one-time lifetime purchase
All purchases are processed by Apple (iOS) or Google (Android) through their respective payment platforms. All sales are final. Refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple or Google through their standard refund processes. We do not process refunds directly.
Lifetime purchases grant permanent access to the purchased tier for the life of the App. We reserve the right to discontinue the App with reasonable notice to users.
5. User Responsibilities
You are solely responsible for:
- The accuracy and completeness of information you enter into the App
- Maintaining the security of your device and PIN code
- Creating backups of your data via the PDF export feature
- Ensuring the App is used only by authorized family members
6. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to use Family Vault to:
- Store information belonging to individuals without their consent
- Facilitate any illegal activity
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the App
- Circumvent any security features of the App
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
Family Vault is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that any data stored within it will be preserved indefinitely. You are solely responsible for maintaining backups of critical information.
Family Vault is not a substitute for professional legal, medical, or financial advice. Information stored in the App should supplement, not replace, proper professional guidance.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Family Vault and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of access, or reliance on information stored within the App.
9. Intellectual Property
The Family Vault application, including its design, code, branding, and content, is owned by Family Vault and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.
10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through an in-app notice. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
