🔒 The short version: Family Vault stores all your data locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal information. Ever. Your data belongs to you.
1. Who We Are
Family Vault ("we," "us," or "our") is a mobile application available on iOS and Android that provides secure, private storage for family emergency documents and records. Our website is located at familyvaultapp.app.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
Family Vault is built on a privacy-first architecture. We do not collect, store, or transmit:
- Your name, email address, or any contact information
- Insurance policy numbers, account numbers, or passwords you store in the app
- Medical information, legal documents, or any vault content
- Location data, device identifiers, or usage analytics
- Advertising identifiers or tracking data of any kind
3. Data Storage
All data you enter into Family Vault is stored exclusively on your device using local storage. No vault data is transmitted to our servers or any third-party servers under any circumstances.
If you delete the app, all locally stored data is permanently deleted with it. We have no ability to recover this data as we never had possession of it.
4. In-App Purchases
Family Vault offers optional paid upgrades (Standard and Premium tiers). All payment processing is handled exclusively by:
- Apple App Store — for iOS purchases (governed by Apple's Privacy Policy)
- Google Play Store — for Android purchases (governed by Google's Privacy Policy)
We receive confirmation of purchase status from these platforms but do not receive your payment card information, billing address, or any financial details.
5. PDF Export Feature
When you use the PDF export feature, your vault data is formatted and rendered locally on your device. No data is sent to external servers during this process. The resulting PDF is saved to your device only.
6. Analytics and Tracking
Family Vault contains zero analytics, zero tracking pixels, zero advertising SDKs, and zero third-party data collection tools of any kind. We do not use Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel, or any similar service.
7. Children's Privacy
Family Vault is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because we collect no personal information from any users, this policy applies equally to all users regardless of age.
8. Security
We implement the following security measures within the application:
- Optional PIN lock requiring a 4-digit code to access the vault
- Password field masking by default throughout the app
- No network transmission of vault data
- No cloud backup of sensitive information without explicit user action
9. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify users through an in-app notice. Continued use of Family Vault after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
